1. What is The Color Bar known for?
The Color Bar specializes in hair color guided by thoughtful consultation, technical expertise and Color With Intention.
Our services include balayage, blonde transformations, highlights, fashion colors, full hair color and color correction. Every recommendation considers the client’s goals, lifestyle, hair history, maintenance preferences and hair integrity.
We also offer in-salon treatments and professional home-care products that can support colored and chemically treated hair.
2. Who founded The Color Bar?
The Color Bar was founded by Creative Director and Head Colorist JOF Fantone together with business partner Darwin Cerrado.
Their complementary experience in hair color and business helped establish The Color Bar in 2018 and develop it into the House of Color Baristas.
3. What makes The Color Bar different?
We believe hair color deserves expertise, consultation and intention.
Before recommending a service, we take time to understand the person, their hair history, goals, lifestyle and maintenance preferences. Our Color Baristas combine technical knowledge, creative judgment and continuous education to recommend a thoughtful and realistic hair color journey.
We do not begin with the color. We begin with the person.
4. What is a Color Barista?
A Color Barista is a hair color professional who combines the roles of artist, consultant, educator and lifelong learner.
At The Color Bar, Color Baristas develop their understanding of color theory, consultation, formulation, placement, toning, color correction and hair integrity. Certain technical services may be performed by Color Baristas who have completed the appropriate internal education and assessment.

6. Who is JOF Fantone?
JOF Fantone is the Creative Director and Head Colorist of The Color Bar. He helps guide the salon’s creative direction and the continuing development of the House of Color Baristas.
His work includes balayage, blonde transformations, gray blending, color corrections, creative hair color and modern hair color techniques informed by consultation, craftsmanship and Color With Intention.
7. Does JOF Fantone do clients personally?
Yes. JOF accepts clients subject to his schedule and availability.
Because his schedule and assigned branch may vary, we recommend contacting The Color Bar in advance to confirm his availability and arrange an appointment.
8. How does JOF Fantone train the salon team?
JOF mentors The Color Bar’s Color Baristas through demonstrations, technical discussions, practical training and continuing education.
He also built programs offered through The Color Bar Academy, where hair professionals can develop their knowledge of consultation, color theory, balayage, blonding, color correction and other modern hair color techniques.

10. Does The Color Bar specialize in balayage?
Balayage is one of our signature services.
Our Balayage Specialists use placement, lightening and toning techniques to create dimension based on the client’s desired result, starting color, haircut, lifestyle and maintenance preferences.
The final approach is customized because balayage does not look or develop the same way on every head of hair.
11. What is balayage?
Balayage is a hair color technique in which selected sections of hair are lightened to create dimension and blended transitions.
Although balayage is often associated with a soft, natural-looking result, its appearance can vary depending on placement, contrast, tone, starting color and the client’s goals.
12. Does The Color Bar offer fashion hair colors?
Yes. We create customized fashion and creative colors, subject to consultation and the condition of the hair.
The process and number of appointments will depend on the client’s starting color, previous chemical services and desired shade. Some fashion colors require significant lightening before the final color can be applied and may also require regular maintenance.
13. Can you fix bad or uneven hair color?
We offer color correction for concerns such as uneven color, unwanted tones, banding, excessive darkness or the results of previous color services.
Color correction is highly individual. Your Color Barista must assess your hair history, current condition and desired result before explaining what may be achievable. Some corrections require more than one appointment to protect hair integrity.
14. How does The Color Bar approach hair color results?
Every hair color service begins with consultation.
Your Color Barista considers your current hair, previous color and chemical history, desired result, lifestyle and maintenance commitment. We then explain the recommended approach, realistic expectations and any limitations before proceeding.
While reference photographs are helpful, results vary because every client’s hair history and condition are different.
15. Can naturally dark hair become blonde?
Dark hair can often be lightened, but the appropriate process depends on its natural level, previous color history, condition and desired blonde result.
Significant lightening may require several appointments. A gradual plan may be recommended to manage expectations and prioritize hair integrity.
16. How long does it take to go blonde?
The time and number of appointments depend on your starting color, previous chemical history, hair condition and desired shade.
Some blonde results may be possible in one appointment. More significant transformations may require a gradual hair color journey over multiple appointments. Your Color Barista will explain the recommended approach during consultation.
17. Which blonde shades may complement Filipina skin tones?
Beige, honey, caramel, ash and other blonde families can complement different skin tones, but there is no single blonde shade that suits every Filipina.
Your Color Barista will consider your undertone, natural coloring, personal style, starting hair color and maintenance preferences before recommending a direction.
18. Will bleaching damage my hair?
Lightening changes the structure and condition of the hair, so it must be approached carefully. The effect varies according to the hair’s starting condition, previous chemical history, the amount of lift required and the products and techniques used.
Professional assessment, controlled processing, appropriate treatments and responsible aftercare can help manage the risks, but no responsible salon should promise that lightening is completely damage-free.
Your Color Barista may recommend a gradual approach, an alternative result or treatment before further lightening if the hair is not ready.
19. How does The Color Bar protect hair integrity during coloring?
We begin by assessing the hair’s current condition and chemical history.
Our Color Baristas use professional products, controlled techniques and appropriate processing based on the service being performed. When suitable, we may recommend strengthening, bond-support or conditioning treatments during or after the service.
Protecting hair integrity may also mean adjusting the target, dividing a transformation into several appointments or postponing further lightening.
20. Does The Color Bar offer bond-support and repair treatments?
Yes. Depending on the client’s hair and service, a Color Barista may recommend professional treatments such as Olaplex, Wellaplex, K18 or other treatment systems currently available at the salon.
These products have different purposes and should not automatically be treated as interchangeable. Your Color Barista will recommend an option based on your hair’s condition and planned service.
21. Can I color hair that has been chemically treated before?
Possibly, but previous color, bleach, straightening, perming and other chemical services can affect what is appropriate and achievable.
Please disclose your complete hair history during consultation, including home-color products and treatments performed elsewhere. A Color Barista may recommend a strand test, modified service, treatment plan or gradual approach.
22. How should I maintain my hair color after the service?
Your maintenance routine will depend on your shade, technique, hair condition and lifestyle.
General recommendations may include:
- Using shampoo and conditioner suitable for color-treated hair
- Limiting excessive heat and using heat protection
- Following the washing frequency recommended by your Color Barista
- Using an appropriate mask, treatment or leave-in product
- Scheduling toner, gloss, root or color-maintenance appointments when needed
- Protecting the hair from factors that may contribute to fading or dryness
Ask your Color Barista for a home-care plan suited to your individual hair color journey.
23. Do I need to book an appointment?
Appointments are recommended, especially for hair color services that require more time or a particular area of expertise.
Booking ahead helps the salon allocate sufficient time and connect you with an appropriate Color Barista. Walk-ins may still be accommodated depending on availability.
24. Does The Color Bar accept walk-ins?
Yes, walk-ins may be accepted subject to Color Barista, chair and service availability.
For balayage, blonding, color correction and other longer services, we strongly recommend booking in advance.
25. How long do hair color services take?
Service duration varies according to hair length, density, history, condition, technique and desired result.
Approximate times may include:
- Root retouch: approximately 1.5 to 2 hours
- Full hair color: approximately 2 to 3 hours
- Balayage: approximately 3 to 5 hours
- Color correction: varies and may require a longer appointment or multiple sessions
These are estimates, not guaranteed completion times. Your branch can provide better guidance after learning more about your hair and requested service.
26. How much does balayage cost?
Balayage pricing depends on factors including hair length, density, starting condition, required technique, product use and desired result.
For initial guidance, you may send clear photographs of your current hair and inspiration images to your preferred branch. A final recommendation and price may require an in-person consultation.
27. Does every hair color service include a consultation?
Yes. Consultation is an essential part of our hair color process.
Your Color Barista will discuss your goals, hair history, current condition, lifestyle and maintenance preferences before recommending an approach. This is also the time to discuss likely duration, maintenance, limitations and estimated cost.
28. What is The Color Bar Academy?
The Color Bar Academy is the education platform of The Color Bar.
It offers learning opportunities for hairstylists, salon professionals and salon owners who want to deepen their understanding of hair color, consultation, color theory and modern techniques.
The Academy reflects our belief that expertise is developed through curiosity, practical experience and continuous education.
29. Are The Color Bar stylists trained through the academy?
The Color Bar’s team participates in continuing education and professional development that may include programs, demonstrations and assessments connected with The Color Bar Academy.
Education is an ongoing part of becoming a Color Barista. It helps the team continue developing technical knowledge, consultation skills, creative judgment and professional standards.
30. Do you offer classes for hairstylists who want to learn hair coloring?
Yes. The Color Bar Academy offers professional education for hairstylists and other industry participants who want to develop their hair color knowledge and practical skills.
